Mikenna~Respect Award!!

Mikenna was nominated by her peers and teachers to receive the Respect Award.  Her teacher called me at the beginning of the week saying that she had been nominated and it's a surprise announcement during the assembly and to come today to see her receive it.  I am so proud of Mikenna and the example that she not only sets at home but in school.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread~It's Our Favorite!

My grandma Winder's banana bread recipe is the BEST!  I add chocolate chips to it.....and my kids down the loaves of bread!  They love it!  They take it in their lunches like it's cookies!!  White chocolate with macadamia nuts is also really good - but they prefer just chocolate chips.

Mikenna~FAST Training

Mikenna is doing FAST Training for 1 month - two times a week at Gold's Gym with a personal trainer with some of her soccer buddies.   She loves it...she comes home happy!  She has to keep active and competitive or she gets the blues.  She will start training with her team again in January - for "Spring" season and then State Cup is after that.  They are playing up a division since they won their division in the fall season.

Brielle~Reading!!

Brielle is reading at level 7 now!  She started out the beginning of the school year at a level 1.
She has really taken off with her reading - I love sitting down with her every night and having her read her books to me.  She has worked hard!!  Her spelling has come along way too.  I tell her certain words to write on a dry erase board - and she probably has 85% percent of the words down that she can spell and write all by herself.  She works hard every night on her reading, writing, spelling and math. We love her teacher this year in 1st grade!

So Much To Be Grateful For!

 Thanksgiving 2012

So much to be grateful for in my life.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Moses Lake with my parents and all of my siblings and their families.  Good food, staying up late talking about old and new memories, visiting my grandma Higley, spending time with family, laughing with my brothers and sister, tag football outside, shopping, watching football, TV, movies, looking at pictures, watching my kids spend 4 days and 4 nights playing nonstop with their cousins and watching their bonds grow even more, Inca's, down time with nowhere to go, time with my kids and husband.  There is nothing sweeter than spending time with my family.  It fills my cup and keeps me strong, humble, faithful, optimistic, grateful and laughing.....and I can't wait to see them again!!
