Mikenna before try-outs
Mikenna tried out for the RCL 3 Rivers Soccer Club Wednesday and Thursday evenings of last week. Toby and I watched for 3 hours both nights. It was so COLD!! Mikenna was sick Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and we kept her home from school all of those days. Toby gave her a blessing Tuesday night. By Wednesday morning she was feeling better and by Wednesday night the first night of try-outs she was a lot better. She was able to compete and do her best both nights of try-outs out in the cold after being sick for 3 days with a head and chest cold. She was truly blessed through a priesthood blessing. We waited anxiously for the results to be posted. They said they would be posted by midnight Thursday night - we stayed up - no results. We woke up in the morning and checked again - still no results! By 10:30a.m. we were frazzled! We checked again and they were finally posted! We both scanned the page looking for Mikenna's number - and found that she made the RCL level of play which is the highest level of play. The soccer club she tried out for is one of the top 20 soccer clubs in the state of Washington! Needless to say we are all very excited and proud of Mikenna. Mikenna is so happy that she accomplished her goal of continuing to better herself as a soccer player. She loves soccer, and she loves to compete. We had to pay a hefty fee to register her to even try-out. Her making the team is a big commitment. She will be playing soccer 10 months out of the year - in Spokane, Seattle, etc. So - here we go!!!!!
