Mikenna had GU12 try-outs for an hour and a half Tuesday and also Wednesday. She tried out for RCL which is the highest level of play in Washington State. She made it again!! Second year in a row! She had an awesome try-out. There were about 60 girls trying out. There are two RCL teams that they put together with 16 girls per team. So 32 girls made RCL. We are very proud of her and her dedication and her work ethic. She loves soccer, but she also loves the higher level of competition. Her coach decided to coach the GU12 girls, so Mikenna will have the same coach as last year as well, which is rare - usually they change coaches every year. He's a great coach that has taught her a lot and improved her skills immensely in one year. He used to play college soccer as well as pro soccer. He has told her that she has great potential to be a premier soccer player and has great potential especially as a defender. Way to go Mikenna! We are excited to watch you play another year! So far she has 4 tournaments this summer - two in Oregon and one in Pasco and one in Yakima. She is also doing a technical training soccer academy this summer once a week and then probably two practices per week with her team as well. And then we will start her regular season again this fall and travel to Seattle for games on the weekends and also see her play at home in Pasco too.
