Jaron Track Meet - Hurdles - 7th Grade

This is Jaron's first year trying Track & Field. He is used to Cross Country.....but he did pretty well for his first meet today! He is trying hurdles....after only a week and a half of learning them...he is starting to get the hang of it.He's the tallest one....had the longest legs to get over the hurdle! :)
His teammate next to him - ran into Jaron's lane and kind of collided with him - but Jaron stayed on his feet! Luckily!!

Jaron Track Meet - Hurdles & 1 Mile Race

Jaron....and his teammate who ran into Jaron's lane...Jaron did really well staying on his feet!

Jaron also ran the mile. Here's the start of the race.
And he's off!!

Jaron Track Meet - 1 Mile Race

Here's Jaron racing in the 1 mile.

Jaron - Track Meet - 1 Mile Race

He's fun to watch run...he is learning how to run on a track as opposed to cross country running.
After the race cooling down...

Jaron Track Meet - 800 Meter Race

The start of the 800 meter race....Jaron is the tallest...I can't believe how much he is growing lately!!

Mid-way during the 800 meter...Jaron's stride looked good today!

Jaron - Track Meet - 800 Meter Race

We are proud of you buddy! You ran your heart out today! Jaron said he is trying to get used to running 3 different events in one day...rather than running 2 or 3 miles at one time during a cross country meet. Jaron said he felt like he did better in the mile race than the 800 - and feels more comfortable running longer distances. I thought he did awesome with only a week and a half of training in the hurdles and 800. He is going to train through spring break at home. He is growing so much right now....he could eat all day and still be hungry!

Jaron - Nuclear Science Merit Badge

Jaron was able to go to WSU Tri-Cities 2 Saturdays in a row and participate with some scouts in a learning first hand about Nuclear Science. They toured the Areva Nuclear Plant in Richland also. He learned a lot and loved it!! It was a neat experience for him to have been able to go!
