Happy Holidays With Love, The Rasmussen's

We are so thankful for all of our family and friends. We are truly blessed by the Lord and the people he has placed in our lives. We love each one of you and wish you a merry Christmas and a wonderful 2009. We are so grateful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for his birth, his perfect example, his atonement, his love.

We had an eventful and busy year. We have accomplished and enjoyed this past year with the love and support of our Heavenly Father, each other, our family and loved ones. We truly enjoy being together as a family and have gone on three memorable vacations this past year. We enjoyed seeing Toby’s family in Colorado for the Rasmussen reunion. We also were able to go to the Winder 4th of July celebration- and we enjoyed going to the Great Wolf Lodge as a family. We have grown even closer as a family. It was so nice to see both of our families this year. We are blessed with wonderful families and friends.

Our children bring us so much love and adventure every day. We love them so much and feel blessed they are healthy, happy and enjoying the things they love in life. Seeing them experience new things and accomplish and learn is amazing to Toby and I. It is a privilege to be able to enjoy their sweet spirits every day.

Jaron loves science, reading and creative art and writing. We love watching him draw and read his stories. He is enjoying band this year. He plays the snare and bass drums. He also loves to play electric guitar. He loves to sing and create music on the drums and guitar. He loves to read. He falls asleep by reading every night. He loves basketball and running. He has a huge heart, and is passionate about life and wears his heart on his sleeve. He loves Weblos and has almost completed it. He loves to research on subjects he is interested in. He’s a walking encyclopedia. He is a wonderful big brother and friend to his two little sisters.

Mikenna loves reading and creative writing and math. She loves school and loves playing with her close guy friends at school. She has such a sweet, giving spirit, but is also very competitive. She has played on the same soccer team for two seasons this year as she did last year. Her team is a fun group of girls. They lost only 1 game this past fall. She makes friends easily. People love to be around her. She loves life and tries to accomplish all she can every day, and does it with a smile on her face. She loves choir and primary. She is excited that she finally gets to play basketball this year. She is a wonderful sister to Jaron and Brielle. Brielle loves to follow her around and copy her every move. Mikenna is a good sport and dances with Brielle.

Brielle is our busy body. She is sassy, sweet, and busy. Dramatic? Yes! She is three –and we are enjoying it. It’s a fun and challenging stage. She is gaining more confidence in being more independent in social settings. She loves to dance, act out movies, and sing. She loves to perform. She is talking so much now. She also loves to draw-everywhere! She loves to help me with chores around the house and be busy. She loves her blankie and stuffed dog that is pretty ratty looking now. She loves shoes, jewelry, clothes, shopping getting into my make-up. She is so much fun and keeps our family laughing. She is intense and is our drama queen.

We enjoy all three of them for their uniqueness and individuality. We couldn’t imagine life without them.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

To My Sweet Baby

I am having a hard time saying goodbye to all things baby. Brielle is my last child, and I have been trying to savour the last of her baby days. I tend to not hold on to things if I am not using them. All of the baby things are disappearing from our home. Pacifiers, bottles, cribs, baby clothes, sleepers, recieving blankets, burp clothes, car seats....the list goes on. I am having a hard time saying goodbye to not all of those things -but the memories that those things hold for me. When I look at a certain outfit or see a certain toy, it reminds me of my precious memories of when my kids were so little, I could hold them in one arm. Time goes way too fast. I sometimes wish I could have had more children. I find myself wondering what I am going to do with myself when all three of my kids are in school full time. I know time is not going to reverse or slow down, so I am getting on with potty training, saying goodbye to diapers, pacifiers, cribs, and hello to a toddler bed, big girl underwear, and a 3 year old that thinks she makes the rules. What happened to my baby girl? Time has a healing power all it's own, but it also can be a robber if you are looking too far ahead or too far back. You miss making memories of today. So today I am remembering with fondness and love the day my Brielle came into my life, and celebrating the big girl she is becoming! I am so lucky to be her mommy! She blesses my life in so many ways. I love you baby girl!!

Christmas Cheer!!
